Transportation

Trains, buses, mini buses taxies and limousines make the Gold Coast transport system versatile with a number of options to choose from. Train system is sponsored and operated by Translink network which extends from Gympie in the north side and Noosa on the Sunshine Coast to Coolangatta on the Gold Coast and west to Helidon. The bus system is operated by Surfside Buses, sponsored by Translink and function along with the train system; so, with only one ticket you can get to where ever you want to on the participating buses, QR Citytrain (operating train system of Brisbane), and even Brisbane City Council ferries within South East Queensland.

The Gold Coast bus service is operated by Surfside buslines and is contracted to Queensland Transport for the provision of local scheduled bus services for the region extending from Dreamworld (at Upper Coomera) in the north to the Qld/NSW border. Surfside Buslines also has the contract for the Northern NSW region from Murwillumbah and the Tweed Coast to the NSW/Qld border. You can also book tourist shuttles and mini buses from Surfside Buses. There are four main train stations on the Gold Coast, Nerang, Helensvale, Robina and Coomera. The trains run through to Brisbane city and through to Brisbane Airport. If heading to Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach the best station to depart from is Nerang from which you will need to take a connecting bus to Surfers/Broadbeach.  You can even get to Brisbane Airport using Surfside buses and the train. In the busy times of the day it is best if you make a booking for a taxi, to contact Regent Taxies call 131 008 and for Yellow cabs call 131 924.
