Dining

Gold Coast flatmates on-line share accommodation network.

The Gold Coast hosts its visitors and residents with a very wide range of different restaurant options in every corner. And the good news is most of the Gold Coast restaurants are excellent! Of course it does not have the cultural diversity that you'd expect from Sydney or Melbourne but, if you're after any kind of Australian cuisine or Asian food it's your lucky city!

You can find many excellent Sushi Places, because there's a large Japanese population on the Gold Coast, either residents or visitors. Sushi places (mostly in Surfers Paradise) and the competition among Australian restaurants is fierce, so the quality is usually excellent.

The best spot to dine out and enjoy the atmosphere is Tedder Avenue in Main Beach, where about 33 top notch cafes, restaurants, bars there are wall to wall on both side of the street. Tedder Avenue is one of the most high-class spots to go to for dining out; just remember, when you're planning to have an evening out on Tedder Avenue, DERESS TO IMPRESS!

Surfers Paradise has more places to drink and eat, but they are spread all over the area; you can always find a restaurant which is opened 24 hours a day in Surfers Paradise. Broadbeach has a nice range of delightful drink and dining options that you can walk through and choose from, again side by side attractive hang-out places on both sides of the street. If you feel like a cheap meal by the ocean for a change, you can walk in one of many surf clubs seen in pretty much every Oceanside area. Most of the Surf Clubs have a Bristol, where they serve huge meals for less than $15. Menu options are almost limited to some choices like chicken parmigiana, fish and chips, spaghetti bolognaise or the seafood platter, but you won't exchange the view and that ocean-side atmosphere with anything, especially for lunch time. If you decide to spend even less than that, you can always pop-in one of the corner shops for a juicy $6 hamburger or fish and chips.
